Welcome to Hanunoo Handicrafts!

This website is primarily created to help support the livelihood of the indigent Mangyans in Mindoro, Philippines. The name "Hanunoo" has dual meaning: 1.) name of one of the eight (8) Mangyan groups; 2.) means "truly, real, genuine " in their language.

There are eight (8) groups of Mangyans: Alangan, Bangon, Tau-buid, Buhid, Hanunoo, Tadyawan, Iraya and Ratagnon.

As of this date, this website is promoting the beadworks of Alangan Mangyans in Sablayan, Occ. Mindoro and the basketry of Iraya Mangyans in Paluan, Occ. Mindoro. We hope to carry and support more products and more Mangyan groups in the near future. In the meantime, we hope you can join our initiative and patronize the beautiful handcrafts the Mangyans have to offer.
